Physical Therapist, Owner

Dr. Kristin Bowne is a pioneer in the new and evolving field of Regenerative Rehabilitation. Her extensive research and practice have allowed her to provide the latest in science and technology and implement cutting-edge programs into any clinical practice. She is passionate about working with others in the community who share her vision for achieving optimal health and fitness and her work is part of an ongoing collaborative with some of the nation's leading regenerative physicians.

Shixin Yu PTA

PT Assistant

Growing up with various health conditions and physical frailty, Shixin became a licensed personal trainer by NASM to help others though the process. He then proceeded to receive his B.S. in Psychology from UC Davis and then his Physical Therapy Assistant degree with license from Ohlone College. As a PTA, Shixin is constantly filling his utility belt with skill and knowledge, he is ready to work diligently to help resolve your pain and injury, and aid you in reaching your goals. On the weekend he loves playing board games and exhausting his overly intelligent husky with all this trainer knowledge. Above all else he is a ice cream lover, and no lactose intolerance will prevent him from inhaling pints of Ben and Jerry's.

Jessica Freitas

Office Manager

Jessica relocated to Santa Cruz County from the greater bay area about three years ago. She has her degree in Criminal Justice Administration and had been working a a paralegal and as a legal secretary before coming to our offices. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and going to the beach.

Stephen Doub

PT Technician

Stephen graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at Cal Poly with a concentration in Exercise Science. He began his experience as an assistant Athletic Trainer for Cal Poly Men’s Soccer before turning his sights towards Physical Therapy. He worked at North County Physical Therapy as an aide before being moving home and starting work here. He plans to attend graduate school for Physical Therapy in the Fall of 2018.

Joshua Stefanson

PT Technician

Josh recently graduated with a degree in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology from UC Santa Cruz. He is a science nerd and is passionate about helping people in  their pursuit of happiness. He plans to attend medical school in the future and is currently preparing for his upcoming applications by gaining experience in healthcare settings. Josh recently discovered the sport of surfing and has been wiping out in the beaches of Santa Cruz on his free time.

Bridgette Blotz

PT Technician

Bridgette is completing her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Bioengineering at UC Santa Cruz with a concentration in Assistive Motor Technology. Her professional goals are to continue on to graduate school for Prosthetics and Orthotics. Outside of school and work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and crafting DIY projects, including restoring old furniture to its former glory.

Jason Pedroza

PT Technician

Jason was raised in beautiful Santa Cruz and is attending Cabrillo College. He is looking to transfer to San Jose State for their Occupational Therapy Program. His intent and passion for sports has led him to a career in health and fitness and to share this passion with others. On the weekends Jason coaches children of various ages in team sports. Seeing them learn is an amazing experience for him and has opened his eyes to the idea of becoming a teacher in the classroom as well as on the field.

Deanna Shinsky

Research Assistant

Deanna is completing her Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine degree at Five Branches University. She has a Bachelors of Science degree in Cognitive Science with a Specialization in Neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego. Deanna previously worked as a Research Coordinator at Stanford University focusing on several sleep and cognition research projects. She has published work on the usability of technology with older veterans. In her free time, Deanna enjoys taking improvisation acting classes and snowboarding.
