About Dr. Bowne

Dr. Bowne is the founder and owner of KRISTIN BOWNE PHYSICAL THERAPY, Center for Rehabilitation & Clinical Rehabilitation in Scotts Valley, CA. She brings over 25 years of experience in orthopedic and sports physical therapy, treating a broad range of injuries. Her focus on Regenerative Rehabilitation investigates how orthopedic injuries heal at the cellular level and designs rehab protocols for both before- and after-autologous biologic injections for musculoskeletal injuries.

Dr. Bowne, PT, MS, DPT, is a pioneer in the new and evolving field of Regenerative Rehabilitation. Her extensive research and practice have allowed her to provide the latest in science and technology and implement cutting-edge programs into any clinical practice. She is passionate about working with others in the community who share her vision for achieving optimal health and fitness and her work is part of an ongoing collaborative with the nation's leading regenerative physicians. Learn more about our latest research & research collaborations.

She is a graduate of Boston University where she earned her Master’s in Physical Therapy with an emphasis in Manual Therapy and research. She has also completed eight years of post-graduate training in Manual Therapy and recently received her Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy while investigating current concepts in the management of knee pain utilizing various regenerative injections. She received her Bachelors of Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara, majoring in Physiological Psychology with an emphasis in neuroscience and research.

Dr. Bowne has worked in a variety of clinical settings in addition to outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine including; Community Health, Hospice, and Acute Hospital Rehabilitation. She has volunteered in various community projects including; working with coaches and athletes in the schools, caregiver training, and training senior enter staff. She has served as guest lecturer at UCSF, as a member of the APTA Board of Rehab and Technology, and presented research studies on Regenerative Rehabilitation at several scientific conferences including the UC Wide Bio Engineering Symposium at UCSF and the Mayo Clinic. She has also served as speaker on Regenerative Rehabilitation at the American Academy of Orthopedic Medicine conference.

Dr. Bowne is also the owner and  founder of BIOREHAB CONSULTING, which offers courses for physical therapists on Regenerative Rehabilitation. She currently provides internships and fellowships for college and graduate students interested in health care and Regenerative Rehabilitation.
